Packaging & Design | December 2023 | Skincare Brand
Introducing Xinh, a brand new skincare brand that is meant to introduce individuals into the wonderful and magical world of skincare. This project came to life through using Adobe Dimension and Illustrator.
For this project, the challenge presented was to research a major multinational consumer goods corporation and find a target demographic that they were not catering towards. My corporation of choice was Proctor & Gamble. P&G was lacking a feminine skincare line aimed towards young adult women that could compete with Unilever’s Dove brand and Johnson & John’s Neutrogena brand. Thus, Xinh was born.
The word “xinh” (pronounced as “sin”) means pretty and dainty in the Vietnamese language. The name of the brand is meant to empower all skin types and convey that all skin types are beautiful. The daintiness is represented in the visuals of the logo and throughout the overall branding.
A challenge that was faced during the whole creation of this project was creating the physical dielines for the packaging. It took a lot of measuring and trial-and-error in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe's beta program, Fantastic Fold, to see what would work best for the brand.
The design challenges resulted in the creation of Xinh having a very dainty, pastel, and sleek look. Enclosed in the package is a bottle of moisturizer, cleanser, and an oil balm — the perfect longterm items to introduce to someone's skincare routine.
